Ivan Habunek commented on LOG4PHP-69:
-------------------------------------

Have at it!

I would just advise that we don't force SPL stuff wherever possible. Use it
where it improves the existing speed, code structure, readability, etc.

> Make use of SPL were appropriate

> SPL is a standard library in PHP, which is active since 5.0. It cannot be
> disabled anymore as of PHP 5.3.
> SPL provides a native implementation of objects like "ArrayObject" or several
> design patterns like Iterator. Since it is nativly written, its at a good
> speed. Using this would reduce the necessary &-"pointers" in PHP code, which
> is need for passing array through methods. Additionally its more object
> oriented and helps for readability.
> It needs to be checked were SPL is appropriate and Log4PHP needs to be
> patched.
