I started on part 2, I added getCopyOfPropertyMap() to PropertyContainer and PropertyContainer, but then when trying to wire in SiftAction I relised that you can already refer to local properties in a SiftingAppender. I reset my changes and tried it out in my project and it worked.
So unless that is a sign of other problems, I don't think we need any more on this.
