I signed up only to vote this issue.
This improvement should be a must. I can't believe there's something that JUL does better than LogBack and Log4j2 has from scratch.
I really believe in LogBack and this would lead LogBack to solve all my log needs without developing anything.
By the way, LogBack IS a very powerful and useful tool, but it can be even better!
