This is also an issue for using project-specific extensions in play framework where logback core is loaded from a parent classloader which cannot see project classes.
Both https://github.com/qos-ch/logback/pull/255 and https://github.com/qos-ch/logback/pull/260 tried to address this, but were refused. 255 was reckless in switching to TCL first which I can understand.
Why is a fallback to TCL unacceptable ?
