Juli logging is still in use at the container level (Tomcat) but the SLF4J Logback loggers are in use in the webapps themselves to allow us to use the asynchronous appender which does not block the application to write logs. There are multiple other features that we may use in the future including JSON output for for Logstash senders that the Juli logging libraries do not have.
