Kelly, The problem is that GMail's POP support is kinda broken. Here's the somewhat technical blog post where I investigated the issue: https://www.logicmail.org/blog/gmail-web-imap-pop
The short answer is that GMail is actually sending me the data you're seeing, when I tell it to "send me the latest messages".
