Unfortunately you have encountered a bug (#5674) in LON-CAPA for which the fix will be included in the forthcoming 2.11.1 release.

For that purpose I created a group (Main menu -> My space -> Edit any group in the course). Then I wanted to generate statistics for that group alone. For example, inside the "overall problem statistics" I chose the group just created, set the other parameters, and clicked the button to generate statistics.
