It's when you can tell the difference between a 3 quid bottle and a 5
quid bolle, then a 5 quid and a 10 quid, and finally a 10 quid and a
30 quid bottle that it starts getting very expensive.

Similarly with champagne, but times all those figures by 3 :)

fwiw, there are an awful lot of *superb* Chilean reds at about 7 quid:
loads in Tesco. I think i've only had 1 out of about 6 that hasn't
been extraordinary value for money.

or a good bottle I've just had (well, not immediately ;) ) is the
Australian Heathcote Shiraz 1998, 11.99 from Oddbins. Unfortunately,
the Heathcote winery is not run by distant relations :)
