Not knowing what a putz was, I looked it up on some yiddish dictionary
sites, and it basically says it's the same as a schmuck (which seems
to have an interesting etymology, to do with German for 'jewel' and
referring to the 'crown jewels'). Anyway, one of the words that were
listed there was also
fehgeleh
a very sweet guy. There are lot of fehgelehs in Hawaii and
Vermont. Versteh?
I thought that 'fehgeleh' was a term (derogatory?) for gay people. Or
am I just missing the reference (have never been to Hawaii or Vermont)?
