I think the issue is that the initial learning curve is offputting to potential
new audiences. I'd prefer to spend nights learning the tools not how to set
them up :)

I assume that one of the technical goals would be to have a working rpm or
or similar that you just run to install and then run a single nice simple
configuration utility/script with as much automation as possible. This 
would allow a lot of leverage with getting a well configured by default 
bundle of this software added to things like Linux/BSD distros.
