Hm. This reminds me of the meet in Penderel's Oak just after the end of
yapc::Europe. A lady there (someone's sister? girlfriend? don't remember)
was talking to one of the resident Perlers about Perl. After a while, she
asked something like "So is Perl better than Java?" -- at that moment,
everything fell completely silent. Even those who couldn't have known she
was going to ask that question where quiet, so everyone could hear her say
it. All conversation stopped.
Quite an impressive effect :-)
