Considering the going rates for an ounce of coffee vs. an ounce of ...any
other illicit crop you might care to think of, I would suggest that the
economics are heavily in favor of the non-coffee crops, by at least a
factor of 10 or 100. Nobody's going to drink that much more coffee. The
only way to compete would be for the prices of the competition to stop
being artificially inflated by the "egg wars", bringing it down to the
level of, say, tobacco. Then coffee could compete just fine...
