An invitation

Santa ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) has invited you to join the santacon-cymru Group.

Seasons Greetings!!!

Santacon Cymru is coming to Wales this Christmas and all Santas are invited to attend. Santacon is a celebration of being Santa and the spirit of Christmas involving a seasonal spree around tinsel town. It is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious Santa Claus convention that is becoming an international phenomenon.

Following the success of last year's first ever European 'Santacon' in
London, the event is to be held in Wales for the first time this year.
Festivities commence in Brecon on the morning of the 23rd of December 2002 and continue in Cardiff in the afternoon and evening before
culminating back in Brecon.

The event has been going for 7 years in the US and the 2001 UK Santacon was the first of its kind in Europe.

Exclusive excerpts from BAFTA award winner Steve Sullivan`s film 'Santa Claus Are Coming' that documents the seasonal shenanigans are now available online on the Santacon Cymru website and screenings of the film in selected Welsh cinemas and other venues are occurring in the lead up to the Christmas period.

The Cardiff film-maker followed the festive follies of the Santas last
Christmas as they caroused with tourists in the West End, had their
cheeks rouged by the make up staff in Selfridges, rode dodgems, gave away presents, serenaded shoppers in the streets, drank beer, worshipped
at the Hamleys shrine of Harry Potter and break danced with Bob the Builder in Leicester Square, and all whilst dressed in cheap Santa suits.

This year, Santas will be departing from Brecon via free transport on
the Santacon Express and as part of a Magical Mystery Detour visit a number of traditional Santa haunts in addition to a couple of surprises!

Fun, merriment, and the spirit of the holiday season awaits all
participating Santas, in addition to those that we will meet on our
inaugural annual holiday outing.

The event is free and open to all Santas, with breaks for refreshment
throughout the day. More details are to follow and any Santas wishing to
be involved are asked to put the date in their diaries and register their interest now to avoid disappointment.

Santacon participants will need to wear a Santa suit (or homemade variation - taking a Santa suit as a base and then customising, modifying, accessorising and EXCESS-orising), comfortable shoes and warm clothing are suggested, with cheap wrapped "presents" being optional,
but a good sense of humour is essential!

A week before the Brecon Santacon, the second London Santacon will be taking place on Saturday 14th December 2002 from about midday until midnight. Due to last year`s success 'Santacon II' is on course to be celebrated on a greater and grander scale as a much more extravagant event.

There will also be a free evening event at a top nightspot for which DJs are required. Anyone wishing to be involved is required to be able to spin the freshest festive tunes whilst dressed in a cheap red polyester Santa suit.
