Indeed. I lived perfectly adequately in a decent, roomy 1-bed flat in Kennignton on £34k in my first job in London (and the UK for that matter). I even managed to nourish my whisky habit and put aside more money than I did in Oslo on a similar gross salary (okay, the flat in Oslo quite a bit newer, but unfurnished and about the same price). -- ilmari "A disappointingly low fraction of the human race is, at any given time, on fire." - Stig Sandbeck Mathisen
