I just looked around a bit and found that the SM712 was used in early
Pentium III laptops. For instance:
  - HP Pavilion N3295 and N3370
  - HP OmniBook XE2
  - Also some Thinkpads, see [1] and [2]

They seem to top out at about 700 MHz, so all in all pretty uninteresting.

Something called the Cougar3DR seems to have been an SM731 PCI/AGP
graphics card, but I can't find much on it.

There are also two, virtually identical, socket 478 P4 motherboards:
