Dear Mr.Qureshi, A few minutes ago your guest Saniya, said two very impactful things in one sentence. She addressed the common man at the 'owner of the nation - Mulk ka Maalik' and and then on the other hand summed up her debate and referred to the population again but this time as a number, or rather a 'death toll'. Her comment and ofcourse your show moved me and reminded me that I am not just a number but rather an owner or a shareholder.
These are distressing and heartbreaking times for people like myself , and infact all of us. I work as an educator, I trained in the US and conciously chose to return and add to our system. At the end of my work day I am proud of my contribution, I am proud because I help refine people's thoughts and offer them realms and layers of the self. On the contrary there I days I feel so insignificant when a man in a large car with a "University of Indiana" sticker almost runs me over because he wishes not to observe the red light - A reputable man along with is wife the other night, almost rammed into my friend's - a grown up woman's car, in order to get ahead - a few nights ago prior to Taravih. Flustered she stopped the car and asked why he would do anything like that. At this he said..." Mujhe Namaaz par jaana he aur aap ko Disco me" . She was most offended at this rude comment and politely said that it was not very nice of him to say such things...at which he shot back at her with a crude FOUR letter word in English and rushed to the mosque where he would pray along with his wife. Why have we , the owners of this land lost and worth of self and each other. Thanks for allowing a platform for dissent.
