LPI Appoints Area Operations Manager for North America
and Asia Pacific

(Toronto, Canada: March 29, 2006) - The Linux Professional Institute
(LPI), (http://www.lpi.org), the world's premier Linux certification
organization announced the appointment of Larry McArthur as Area
Operations Manager for North America and Asia Pacific. Mr. McArthur has
had an extensive career of broad executive-level experience at several
global companies and has been very active in business activities in
North America, China and Asia for over 30 years.

"Larry MacArthur brings an impressive network of government and industry
contacts within Asia and North America to LPI--both continents which
have been vitally important to our development as an organization. In
particular, his solid background in China has already been an immense
asset to us in identifying the right people to lead the development of
our certification program in that region," said Jim Lacey, President and
CEO of the Linux Professional Institute noting LPI's recent announcement
of a new Greater China regional affiliate (see
http://www.lpi.org/en/news_item/142). Mr. Lacey added that Mr.
McArthur's career experience in starting, growing and running successful
high tech companies also made him a natural candidate for growing LPI's
North American market and that LPI will be announcing important new
initiatives in that regard at the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference and
Expo in Boston.

Mr. MacArthur is the CEO of Sino-American Business Solutions which
provides a full range of professional business advisory services to
enable trade and business between China and America. Prior to that he
was the CEO of Saronyx Inc., a BioPharma IT company. His executive
experience in Asia includes his position as Chairman of Greater China
operations for SGI in Beijing, China where he reorganized SGI's
operations across Greater China and ran strategic initiatives for all of
the Asia Pacific for the company. SGI is a long time supporter and
sponsor of LPI.

''The Linux Professional Institute plays an important role in the
promotion of Open Source technology and I am pleased to be part of that
effort. In particular, I look forward to the opportunity of working
with the LPI team to develop creative and innovative means to further
grow the organization," said Larry MacArthur.

Mr. McArthur has bought and/or sold 20 companies and raised over $250
million in capital for his companies in the USA, Asia and the European
Union. He is widely recognized within the business community for his
demonstrated success in highly creative marketing strategies and
visionary leadership. Mr. McArthur is a global deal maker with
extensive operating experience in a variety of high tech industries
including software, high performance computing, internet security,
control systems and BioPharma. Examples of his business experience include:

* Management of the public company MSC Software which attained revenues
of $300 million, with 1500 employees and 14% profit after tax.

* Turn-around of a 500 employee heavy manufacturing division of Gould
growing the business by over 200%.

* Founding of Aries Technology which he grew into the industry's leader
in Mechanical Computer Aided Engineering through strategic partnering
agreement with Ford Motor Company and others.

* CEO of GetSilicon, an Internet-based provider of collaborative supply
chain management solutions for the semiconductor industry.

Mr. McArthur is also the co-founder of the National Center for
Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), where he has served on the Board of
Directors for 16 years. He holds a B.S. from Western Michigan University
School of Pulp & Paper Science and Technology and resides in San Jose,
