LPI Offers Discounted Certification Exams at LinuxWorld London (October
25-26)

(Toronto, Canada: October 19, 2006) The Linux Professional Institute
(LPI), (http://www.lpi.org) will offer discounted certification exams to
attendees of LinuxWorld London (October 25-26, 2006). Certification exams 
will include all LPIC-1 (101 and 102) and LPIC-2 (201 and 202) exams, 
both MySQL 5.0 certification exams (administrator and developer) and the 
Ubuntu Professional exam. 
LPIC-1 (101 and 102), LPIC-2 (201 and 202) exams will be offered at a
reduced fee of £40 - a 50% discount off the regular exam price of £80.
The Ubuntu Professional exam is priced at £50 and the MySQL exams are £60
each. All exams will be offered at 10 - 11:30 a.m. and 1.30 – 3:00 p.m. 
each day in the LPI examination rooms, which are located on the lower ground floor
in Olympia 2. All LPI and Ubuntu Professional candidates must pre-register
at the LPI website for an LPI ID number at
http://www.lpi.org/en/lpi/english/certification/register_now. Exam
candidates must bring valid photo identification and their LPI ID number
to the exam lab. Exam candidates for MySQL exams must also obtain a
MySQL certification ID from the MySQL website at
http://www.mysql.com/certification/signup and must also bring valid
photo identification and their MySQL certification ID number to the exam
events. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card.

During LinuxWorld London, LPI also invites interested Linux
professionals to volunteer to write the "beta" exam for their LPIC-3
certification. This volunteer effort will enable LPI to test their
LPIC-3 exams for quality, accuracy and relevancy. The LPIC-3
certification is scheduled for release in January 2007. Similar "beta"
exam lab events are scheduled in 2006 at locations around the world and
will involve over 300 Linux professionals. Please contact Glenn McKnight

invites Linux professionals and industry representatives to provide
input on the Job Task Analysis (JTA) for LPIC-3.
