Linux Professional Institute Expands Training Partner Program

(Sacramento, USA: December 2, 2008) The Linux Professional Institute
(LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization
(http://www.lpi.org), announced further improvements to its growing
training partner program. LPI has more than 220 approved training
partners in 35 countries around the globe.

"Over the past few years we have continued to evolve our training
partner program resulting in a substantial increase in the number of
countries where we have representation--this demonstrates both the
growing adoption of Open Source Software and the need world-wide for
vendor-neutral Linux training," said Jim Lacey, President and CEO of
LPI. Mr. Lacey noted that due to this demand and increasing requests
from employers, educational institutions and exam candidates for high
quality training options LPI is adding new improvements and resources to
the training partner program throughout 2009.

In the last six months alone LPI has added multiple training partners in
the following nations: Belgium, Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea,
Netherlands, Philippines, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, and the
United Kingdom. Mr. Lacey credited this diverse group of new partners to
an increasing emphasis within LPI on regional execution: "Our global
program of affiliates has enabled us to engage with on-the-ground
players who understand the needs of the local market and can identify
which training partners are best suited to promote Linux professionalism
and certification," said Mr. Lacey, adding that this was further
demonstrated by the increasing interest of post-secondary education
institutions such as colleges and universities in a variety of local
markets throughout the globe. "LPI's certification program fits very
well within the scope of academic training programs and provides
substantial value for students in these programs who will be pursuing IT
careers," said Mr. Lacey.
