LPI Hosts September Exam Labs at LinuxCon Brazil and Ohio LinuxFest 2010

(Sacramento, CA, USA: August 25, 2010) - The Linux Professional
Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization
(http://www.lpi.org), announced promotional exam labs for their Linux
Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) at LinuxCon Brazil (São
Paulo, Brazil, September 1, 2010) and Ohio Linux Fest (Columbus, Ohio,
USA, September 12, 2010). This is LPI's second event as the exclusive
Free and Open Source Software certification provider at LinuxCon and
their fifth year as certification sponsor of the Ohio LinuxFest.

Linux and Open Source professionalism. We are pleased to once again be
participants in both these events: Ohio Linux Fest, and this year at the
Linux Foundation's event, LinuxCon Brazil. In addition, during these

Please indicate preferred exam and time slot when registering for exam
events.  To participate in the exam labs you must obtain an LPI ID at
https://www.lpi.org/caf/Xamman/register.  On the day of the exam,
candidates may make payment for their exams onsite 15 minutes prior to
the exam lab. Each exam takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.

In addition, along with their exam payment, candidates should bring
their LPI ID and a government issued photo identification to the exam lab.

All three levels of LPI certification (LPIC-1, LPIC-2 and LPIC-3) will
be offered at LinuxCon Brazil on Wednesday, September 1st from 13:00 to
16:00 hrs in the Santos Room, World Trade Center Convention Center
(Nacoes Unidas Ave 12559, Brooklin Novo, São Paulo, Brazil). Exams
offered will include LPI's new LPI-304 "Virtualization and High
Availability" certification exam.

LPI-101, LPI-102, LPI-201, LPI-202 will be available in the Portuguese
language at the regular PBT (paper-based test) price of R$ 286 for the
first exam and a candidate's second exam will be available at the
special promotional price of R$ 143.

LPI-301 (English only) will be available at the full price of R$ 465
only. Anyone taking a subsequent LPIC-3 "specialty" exam LPI-302,
LPI-303 or the new LPI-304 exam (all English only) will pay a special
promotional price of R$ 143 for their second LPIC-3 exam.

Candidates interested in writing LPI exams at LinuxCon Brazil are asked
to register in advance at [email protected] as seating is limited.  In
addition exam candidates who register for LPI exam labs will be eligible
for a 50% reduction in conference fees for LinuxCon Brazil and have
access to all conference activities including a keynote presentation by

All exams will take place starting at 11:00 on Sunday, September 12, in
the Drury Hotel, Columbus, Ohio.

An LPI Cram Session is available on Friday, September 10th, as part of
OLFU, which is designed to cover the materials needed to pass LPIC-1. To
take this class you must register for the Professional Pass. The
Professional Pass does not include the cost of the exams. For further

LPI is offering the exams at a discounted rate of $109 per exam, except
for LPI-301 which will be $179. All exams will be available except for
the new LPI-304 exam: "High Availability and Virtualization." Details
