rsyslogd is the default in Enterprise Linux release 6 (based on Fedora 12/13).
sysklogd is the default in Enterprise Linux release 5 (based on Fedora
Core 6), with rsyslog as a supported option.
Fedora Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) offers syslog-ng as
an unsupported option.

I would argue one should test sysklogd syntax, and then rsyslogd
and/or syslog-ng specifics, in areas where there is an advantage over
sysklogd.
