FYI, "basic feature" means the exam taker doesn't have to get their
hands dirty with details.

Also, most of what you Bryan and Martin mentioned above is covered in
depth in the 303 exam:

The mention of encrypted file systems for LPIC-2 is more of a teaser
and/or pointing out that the candidate should know they exist and why.
