**Off-topic portion ...

Asus (now only an OEM brand) spun off their Pegatron (their prior, ODM
brand) entity in 2010, and stopped using them for their mainboards by
2011.

Pegatron (ODM) has more recently acquired ASRock (OEM), which has
become their "flagship" OEM branding for their products.

Ironically, ASRock (OEM) was originally spun off by Asus in the early
'00s as a new, low-cost OEM to compete with other OEMs who used the
"low-cost/high-volume" ODMs -- namely ECS, FoxConn and FIC -- 2 of the
3 they now use themselves to "save on costs."

In other words ...

Follow the ODM, and it explains everything.
Pegatron foundry designs and fab'd products tend to be one of the best.
