Initially I was looking for the behaviour from previous LPRng editions.
I.e. you set "af" to a filter and then file descriptor 3 gets assigned to
this filter for the "if" and "of" filters. That's pretty much what's in the
documentation.
I used as and ae to define the log file format - which presumably isn't
possible any more.
