As per your suggestion, I tried LPRng 3.7.1, which doesn't have
this problem at all. While I am not nuts about running the beta
I really don't have much choice in this case. All subqueues can
be printed to directly, and correctly start a server when the
job is in the queue.

So far 3.7.1 seems very solid. Good work.
