First I apologize to put such a basic question on this list, but it is
driving me unsane right now.
Is there a trick (a special config ?) to get lprng to transfer the options
form "lp -o" (or lpr -Z) ??
Here's my config:
I have one Solaris print server, running lpd from Solaris (as a server),
and using the jetadmin suite to talk the printers. I have serveral client
(as far as printing is concerned), all sending their request to the
Solaris print server. Clients are Solaris or HPUX. Unfortunately, HPUX rlp
does not send the -o options to the server. I have talked with HP, this is
a known fact, and they have a request enhancement about it. So I decided
to install lprng, but that doesn't seem to work either.
I know that the server accept the -o options, because when I try
lp -o lanscape -d printer_name filename
on a Solaris client, it prints in landscape mode.
Yet, from my hp with LPRng installed, it still prints in protrait....
Any idea ??
