I've configured LPRng 3.8.6 with the following ./configure:

./configure --prefix=/sw/LPRng --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
--mandir=/usr/share/man --x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include
--x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib --disable-force_localhost
--with-lpd_conf_path=/etc/lpd.conf --with-lpd_perms_path=/etc/lpd.perms
--with-printcap_path=/etc/printcap
--with-initpath=/usr/local/etc/rc.d/lprng.sh
--with-filterdir=/sw/ifhp/filters --with-filter_path=/sw/ifhp/filters
--with-userid=lprng --with-groupid=1081

However, whenever I try to launch LPD, I get:

Checking Printcap Info and fixing permissions
checkpc: WARNING- LPD_CONF environment variable option enabled
and running as root! You have an exposed security breach!
Recompile without -DGETENV or do not run clients as ROOT
Restarting server
printerlpd: WARNING- LPD_CONF environment variable option enabled
and running as root! You have an exposed security breach!
Recompile without -DGETENV or do not run clients as ROOT

I'm not running the clients as root, I'm using "lprng" as the name for the
user/daemon. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? :(

Thanks,
Glenn
(JIC: Yes, I'm doing an ln -s /sw/lprng/bin/* to /usr/share/bin & etcetera...)
