Can you elaborate on this?  Do you pass a socket or file descriptor to the 
printer connection to STDIN?  Or do you pass contents of ":lp="?

If you try to pass in an open connection, the latest Xerox/Tek printers are 
not going to work.  You can't old any open TCP connections to them and expect 
the status of the current job (as reported by SNMP) to ever report "completed" 
(or will the pagecounter increment).
