What software is being used to generate the postscript files? I am fooling around with EPS. It might be "trivial" to insert an EPS file into each page of your postscript document with the information you want. The only trick might be to see what kind of naming and page conventions your postscript files have.
I did try things like psmerge but they don't seemto work on my linux system.
