The print server is RH 7.3 with LPRng 3.8.9 (+RH patches). The printer is a HP8000DN (also having similar problems with some HP2100tn's)
Some windows clients have a problem where only part of the job prints and then gets a timeout error. I notice that before the job starts printing a "bad transmission" error is displayed on the printer panel for a few seconds. This happens even with a small document such as a printer test page but only with W2k or XP using either Windows or HP drivers. NT drivers cause no problems. The problem exists using samba or Windows lpr to send the job to the print server. It doesn't happen if the Windows boxes print directly to the printer and it didn't happen with our previous print server (running Tru64 Unix and Compaq's advanced printing software). Anybody else seen this? Any suggestions?
