Hi,

I have an accounting package that we have been using for simple page
counting and quota enforcement. It's somewhat less complex than
printbill. If it fits your need and you are interested, I can send a
copy to you. Here are some of the features:

- It uses lprng and ifhp.
- It sends feedback messages to user after the completion of each
print job. It can handle local Unix users and remote Windoze
users. For local users, it sends messages using 'write'. For Windoze
users, it uses 'smbclient' (part of samba).
- It has simple utils to create a user database, edit the database,
view usage, etc.
- If you do not wish to enforce quota, the only way to do it at the
moment is to set quota to a number too large to reach.
- It assumes that it runs on the only printer server. In other words,
if you have more than 1 server, and each one runs a copy of this
program, the quota info will be wrong.
- Likewise, it's a simple and simple-minded collection of
utils. There are no fancy web admin tools and such.

Just let me know if you are interested, and give me a few days to
package the latest version.

Regards,

Ivan
