I'm setting up a new LPRng here. In the past I've used magicfilter, but this time I'm using apsfilter for (supposedly) better support of a HP Color DeskJet (hpijs driver).
Anyway, apsfilterconfig (aka SETUP) writes a printcap entry like: lp|xyz/ijs;r=300x300... I then ran LPRngTool, to further work on the printcap. It doesn't like any of the apsfilterconfig lines that have the print command data built into the printer name (like r=300x300). And these are the the names of the printer. I suspect it is the semi-colon in the names which is giving lprngtool problems, but haven't gotten into it too deeply yet. Looking around the net, lots of other people have similarly written printcaps, so I don't think it is a problem that LPRng would have in parsing the file, just lprngtool. (?) Is this a known problem? Any work arounds? Thanks, Gord Matter Realisations http://www.materialisations.com/ Gordon Haverland, B.Sc. M.Eng.
