I'm having a similar problem. >From my Jan 8 posting:
I am having a problem getting LPRng lpd to remove rejected jobs automatically. I want to accept jobs from user "eprod" so the remote client's lp daemon doesn't go into pest mode, but throw the accepted job away and never print it. The jobs get accepted for spooling and the job never prints but the spooled jobs also never disappear. I have to remove them with lprm via a cron job. What am I doing wrong? The lines affecting eprod in the lpd.perms file look like this. ACCEPT SERVICE=R REMOTEUSER=eprod REJECT SERVICE=P REMOTEUSER=eprod ---begin quoted text--- > Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Thu, 15 Jan 2004 12:10:14 -0500 (EST) > From: Daniel E Singer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: LPRng: data files (df*) not being removed from print queues, still > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > We are now running: > > # /usr/cs/sbin/lpd -V > LPRng-3.8.24, Copyright 1988-2003 Patrick Powell, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > And are still having the problem where the df files do not leave the > queue; they just build up until purged by checkpc. > > I've seen this problem reported before, and I think that the response > was that the problem had been patched.
