we still suffer from the strange problem (queue stops) even with the latest version of lprng. But the point that lp seems to start some shell stuff is clear now. its inside the system profile and if the system is under load you can see these commands.
The last time the worker process seems not returning ist there an option to set a timeout for the workder process ?
