Document: draft-ietf-lsr-l2-bundle-member-remote-id Title: Advertisement of Remote Interface Identifiers for Layer 2 Bundle Members Reviewer: Brian Weis Review result: Ready
I have reviewed this document as part of the security directorate's ongoing effort to review all IETF documents being processed by the IESG. These comments were written primarily for the benefit of the security area directors. Document editors and WG chairs should treat these comments just like any other last call comments. The summary of the review is Ready. This document adds a sub-TLV to OSPF, IS-iS, and BGP-LS existing TLVs. The new sub-TLV advertises interface identifiers for L2 bundle members. Because it adds to existing protocol elements it does not primarily affect the security considerations of the protocols themselves. RFCs documenting OSPF and IS-IS authentication methods are referenced, which is appreciated. There is a good discussion in the Security Considerations section regarding the risks of exposing the interface identifiers on untrusted network links, and mention of the trust boundaries that is created by including them in the protocols. I don’t have any recommendations for improvement. _______________________________________________ Lsr mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
