All (apologies for cross posting), We’re working with the Privacy NY coalition and other groups to gather support for a sign-on letter to Google, asking that the company improve its transparency around novel types of search warrants. Currently, Google’s transparency report<https://transparencyreport.google.com/> lists the total number of warrants it receives in each country, but it doesn’t divulge the number of geofence<https://onezero.medium.com/googles-geofence-warrants-face-a-major-legal-challenge-ac6da1408fba?gi=sd> and keyword search warrants<https://www.cnet.com/news/google-is-giving-data-to-police-based-on-search-keywords-court-docs-show/> it receives. Geofence and keyword warrants pose a unique threat to civil rights and privacy, and additional disclosures would significantly improve our advocacy campaigns to ban these warrants.
