Okay, most of the time I would get the "no screens" error, or I would get
a flicker that never resolved into a stable gdm login screen. Eventually
the X server would always crash with the "no screens" error. The one
system where I swapped out its card - I am unsure what card was in it, but
it is a high end agp card with what appears to be 32MB of video RAM
onboard - works now. I found a pci card that said it was using the sis
chipset. It is a generic no-brand card, but it works and that's all I care
about at this point. I don't have the card in front of me right now (the
really nice one with 32MB of Video RAM); so I can't tell you who makes it.
I don't remember finding any distinctive manufacturers markings on it - it
came from Dell. ... and it was working with ltsp-2.08 and the XFree 3.3.6
SVGA server. So, I know that XFree does support the card. Any more info be
helpful? Just let me know.
