First of all you should know kernel version for ltsp2.09 is 2.4.9
(IMHK).

If you wanna make your own kernel even newer version, you should make it
as you want it.
Then tag it to make it loadable from network (do know how but i have
heard about mknbi...)
Then copy modules tree to /lib/modules tree for your workstation.

reboot the workstation.

Server kernal can be different than CLient kernel.

That's all folks.
