Hi Marvin, May be your problem with the login screen of teh workstation is related with the X config of the workstation. Probably you are using the "auto" parameter on lts.conf at /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/ so I would change this parameter and I would put XF86_SVGA, for example. I dont know if this works specifically for the "Trident 3DImage975 4MB PCI" but you can try. In the end the lts.conf file would look something like:
<sniped> #------------------------------------------------------------------------------ # # Example of specifying X settings for a workstation # [ws001] XSERVER = XF86_SVGA </sniped> As i said I dont know it "XF86_SVGA" is the proper parameter for your car but you can try with diferent X server until you find the most suited for your card. About your Internet conection using kppp on Mdk 8.1, are you sure that the problem is related with LTSP 3? Before you installed LTSP the dial up conection via kpp was working properly? Can you put a more detailed description of the error message that Internet conection process gives to you? I guess that you have a problem in your ppp config. Maybe when draknet (the net config tool of mandrake) made the questions for information about the servers you press "next" and followed the process without making any changes in the sugested IP address for the DNS server and the gateway. So I think that your system is "thinking" that it has to make the Internet conection via the gateway (net card) and not via ppp (the modem). So a "quick and dirty" form to solve this is running draknet again and leaving the info about DNS server and Gateway in blank (not with the default values). Then you can try kppp again. Hope this help. Cheers, Offray Vladimir On dom, 2002-02-03 at 07:30, Marvin T Pascual wrote: > Hello LTSP gurus! =) > > I have two questions with LTSP.
