the usual Linux RIP called ghostscript has output drivers for
dotmatrix printers. try to setup the printer like any other
(laser/inkjet) printer
workaround if you want to use the text-only-mode of the printers:
try a script using the ps2ascii Tool as a UNIX-print-queue
for StarOffice.
