Jason Pattie described a similar (maybe the same) problem
to me last week, with an i810 based mobo that would cause
the screen to quiver.

Maybe it's a problem with the Xserver.  That's the biggest
difference between LTSP 3.0 and previous versions, because
we switched from 3.3.6 to 4.1.0.

Maybe you could load the ltsp_x336_svga package and
set XSERVER = XF86_SVGA, to try the older Xserver
and see if it makes a difference.
