We have a small monitor on the server, and we're copying the logs to the console (with the line "*.* /dev/tty12" in /etc/syslog.conf). This works really well, since computer-literate grad students wander in and out of the office/server room and notice when something is not quite in order. The only problem is that the monitor keeps going into power-saving mode. Anybody know how to prevent the monitor from doing the power-saving thing? (No X is running on the server.)
