Yes I need some way to set up local applications. I'd skip any ideas of "local swap"; remember that his machines will probably be pretty new, and the 16M needed to run a local machine's apps would get lost inside the typical 168-pin memory- they're probably 64M each. What, are they cracking RC5 or something? Would you WANT them running something so large, on the individual workstations? This is a school; if they use any swap, they're probably doing something you don't want'em to. Put at least 1G of ram on the server. 256 was skimpy on a 12-user system- it won't work with 'explorers' on a 28-node system... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Brian Fahrländer Linux Zealot, Conservative, and Technomad Evansville, IN My Voyage: http://www.CounterMoon.com ICQ 5119262 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I don't want to hear news from Isreal until the news contains the words "Bullet", "Brain", and "Arafat". ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: Jabber - The world's fastest growing real-time communications platform!
