Hi all, After many hours figuring this all out, I've got a 486 -100Mhz (16MB RAM) with a boot floppy image from rom-o-matic trying to connect to my Mandrake-8.2 system. It detects the card, runs tft and downloads the kernel. The kernel appears to go through the usual bootup stuff (detecting the PCI cards, initializing a ramdisk, etc) until I get:
VFS: Cannot open root device "ram0" or 01:00 Please append a correct "root=" boot option Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:00 It doesn't even seem to get to the nfs part of the boot.... Does anyone have any suggestions? I've got RedHat 6.1 running on the hard drive of this 486, so I know it should work just fine. But if I pretend the hard drive isn't there and use this boot rom, that's what I get. Thanks!
