It seems like the problem is that the card does not link up to the
switch till the pcmcia driver loads, than 2 seconds later is looks for
the dhcp server and maybe does not give the card enough time. It just
barely has got the network connection establised.

What script is running or how hard would it be to make it pause a little
longer there?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree? :)
