Hi all, I'm new to LTSP but have been running remote-X for a while. I've got some Compaq 3800 (similar to 4000) to set up as diskless workstations. These have a net-boot facility and using this I can get them to pick up a IP via BOOTP (after 3 requests).
However when they attempt to tftp the kernel they fail to respond to the packet sent from the server and restarts/retries the request. tcpdump shows: 14:49:09.320790 192.168.1.21.2074 > 192.168.1.10.69: 48 RRQ "lts/vmlinuz-2.4.9-ltsp-lpp-5" 14:49:09.327012 192.168.1.10.32845 > 192.168.1.21.2074: udp 516 (DF) 14:49:14.325552 192.168.1.10.32845 > 192.168.1.21.2074: udp 516 (DF) 14:49:19.325539 192.168.1.10.32845 > 192.168.1.21.2074: udp 516 (DF) I have confirmed that another machine (normal PC with netboot floppy) will successfully grab kernel. 13:54:27.479755 192.168.1.22.1026 > 192.168.1.10.69: 40 RRQ "lts/vmlinuz-2.4.9-ltsp-lpp-5" (DF) 13:54:27.483399 192.168.1.10.32825 > 192.168.1.22.1026: udp 516 (DF) 13:54:27.484564 192.168.1.22.1026 > 192.168.1.10.32825: udp 4 (DF) 13:54:27.484635 192.168.1.10.32825 > 192.168.1.22.1026: udp 516 (DF) 13:54:27.486045 192.168.1.22.1026 > 192.168.1.10.32825: udp 4 (DF) ... However I can't use a floppy with these machines as the TLAN card is not supported by rom-o-matic (I have emailed to ask for it). These are 10/100 machines, but running on a small 10baseT network with simple hub. Very quite network - at present. Does anyone have any suggestions of what else to try??
