Hi, I am a newbie in Linux and I am trying to set up ltsp on RH 8.0 server and one client in our library. After a while I managed to set up text connection to the server (RUNLEVEL = 4) but I did not succeed in starting the X connection.
With standard XSERVER=auto I got this error: XFree86 Version 4.2.99.1/X Window System (protocol version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 15 October 2002 Built Operating system: Linux 2.4.7-crypto 6, 686 [ELF] Module loader present . . (EE) Unable to locate/open config file (EE) Error from xf86HandleConfigFile() Fatal Server error: no screens found Because server and workstation have the same hardware (video - NVidia GForce 2 MX) I tried to use XF86Config file from server on workstation - placing it into /opt/ltsp/i386/etc and adding line into lts.config XF86CONFIG_FILE = XF86Config but I received the same error as above. LTSP is in version 3.0. I tried to find some answers on the archive of this conference and in some docs around but I didn't find anything. Could somebody here help me? Thank a lot!
