Thanks all for your suggestions.

I've tried 5.0.7 and 5.0.8 but it hangs after two lines:
.000021.0000 done.
ROM segment 0x0800 length 0x4000 reloc 0x94

5.0.10 and 5.0.6 hangs after one line:
.000021.0000 done.



The only etherboot rom image that even attempts to query the dhcp server is 5.1.8. I found that if
I disconnect the network cable during bootup and only reconnect it after etherboot complains
that a valid link is not established, it doesn't hang during the dhcp process and etherboot happily
continues on to download the kernel via tftp. The following is the error message given when the
network cable is disconnected if it helps:
