i just found out there is two ltsp_initialize files, one in the 'install_scripts' directory (/opt/ltsp/install_scripts) and the other in the 'templates' directory (/opt/ltsp/templates)
note that you must run ./ltsp_initialize from opt/ltsp/templates directory in order to load all your templates (including dhcpd.conf.example) the other does not work.
mandrake 9.0 install instructions on the ltsp site are correct, just have to read them a litlle carefully, and watch how steps jump from one directory to the next and then back again.
everything should run a little better from there...hope this helps
now i have to learn how to use these mailing lists...;)
