I can load LTSP just fine, except for the fact that any service related to tcp_wrappers (i.e. TFTP, NFS, PORTMAP) will not work unless I have ethereal running capturing the port data. Has anyone else had this problem? When ethereal is not running, the terminals can not find the portmap on server. If ethereal is disabled while the terminals are in use, the screen freezes, except for the mouse movements (no clicks are accepted), but it runs fine again once I start ethereal back up.

Config: RedHat 9 (full install, fully updated) connected to 2 terminals (3c509 nics on the terminals) through a realtek 8139 nic to a Netgear 4-port hub (en-104tp). Each terminal has a kernel on floppy disk compiled from the 586 kernel template.

If anyone can give me any clue about how to fix this, it would greatly appreciated it.

Jason Luka
